Corporate Head – Quality
To lead and manage the Quality function across design, procurement, manufacturing, and project execution, ensuring compliance with national/international standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in all engineering activities. Ensure products, services, and processes meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Quality Leadership
- Define and implement the organization’s quality policy and objectives.
- Lead cross-functional quality teams across project sites and production units.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and compliance across departments.
2. QMS Implementation
- Develop, implement, and maintain ISO 9001-compliant Quality Management Systems.
- Ensure alignment of engineering practices with industry codes and client requirements.
- Conduct periodic reviews and internal audits to assess QMS effectiveness.
3. Engineering & Project Quality
- Approve and monitor Project Quality Plans, ITPs, and quality inspection reports.
- Oversee quality across design, fabrication, assembly, and installation stages.
- Ensure timely resolution of site quality issues, NCRs, and client observations.
4. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with statutory and contractual quality standards (e.g., IS codes, ASME, ASTM, IEC).
- Liaise with external auditors, clients, and third-party inspection agencies.
- Maintain up-to-date certifications and ensure timely renewal.
5. Supplier & Subcontractor Quality
- Evaluate and audit suppliers for material quality and process compliance.
- Define quality clauses in vendor contracts and monitor incoming material inspection.
- Address vendor non-conformances and support procurement in quality-critical sourcing.
6. Quality Reporting & KPIs
- Monitor key quality metrics such as defect rates, rework cost, inspection efficiency, and customer complaints.
- Generate MIS reports, quality dashboards, and participate in management reviews.
- Use RCA, FMEA, and CAPA methodologies for systemic problem-solving.
7. Training & Development
- Organize training sessions on inspection methods, QMS procedures, and quality standards.
- Build technical capability within QA/QC and project execution teams.
8. Continuous Improvement
- Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI initiatives for product and process optimization.
- Drive initiatives to reduce cost of poor quality (COPQ).
The following is required for this role:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Civil/Electrical).
- Certified Lead Auditor – ISO 9001 (additional certifications like Six Sigma, ASME, API preferred).
- Proficient in quality tools and techniques (RCA, FMEA, SPC).
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Experience with EPC projects, fabrication shops, or infrastructure sites is a plus.
