To plan, program, and oversee machining operations using lathe, CNC, and VMC machines. Ensure efficient and high-quality manufacturing through expertise in engineering drawing reading, fixturing, CAM programming, and vendor coordination.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. CNC & VMC Programming:

• Develop and optimize NC programs for CNC and VMC machines.
• Select tools, define cutting parameters, and simulate programs for process reliability.

2.  Machine Operation & Setup:

• Set up and operate lathe, CNC, and VMC machines as required.
• Ensure correct fixturing and tool alignment for precise machining.

3.  Engineering Drawing & GD&T Interpretation:

• Accurately read and interpret technical drawings and geometric tolerances.
• Translate drawings into actionable machining steps.

4.  3D Modeling & CAM:

• Create 3D models and generate tool paths using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, Fusion 360).
• Validate machining sequences through simulation.

5.  Fixturing & Tooling Development:

• Design and implement effective fixtures for new and existing parts.
• Optimize setups to reduce cycle times and improve part quality.

6.  Vendor Coordination:

• Follow up with external machining vendors for job status, quality checks, and timely deliveries.
• Conduct technical discussions with vendors to clarify machining issues.

7.  AutoCAD Drafting:

• Prepare and revise 2D drawings for internal machining and documentation.
• Ensure drawing accuracy and standard compliance.

8.  SAP & Documentation:

• Perform basic SAP functions for production tracking, job orders, and inventory updates.
• Maintain NC program records, tool lists, and inspection reports.

9.  Process & Quality Improvement:

• Analyze machining processes to identify opportunities for cost and time reduction.
• Coordinate with quality teams for problem-solving and process corrections.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Proficient in CNC, VMC, and lathe machine operations
• Skilled in AutoCAD, CAM software, and 3D modeling
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation
• Fixture and tool selection expertise
• Basic knowledge of SAP (PP/MM modules preferred)
• Good communication and vendor handling skills

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma / BE in Mechanical / Production Engineering
• 3–6 years of experience in a machine shop or precision manufacturing setup
