Engineer – Sales
Responsible for managing key pump and valve customer accounts, ensuring smooth order processing, timely delivery, quality compliance, and customer satisfaction. Drive growth within existing customers by managing the entire sales process cycle from enquiry to order fulfilment and payment collection.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Account Management:
Handle pump and valve customers’ accounts, including order entries, complaint resolution, payment follow-ups, deliveries, and quality assurance. - Sales Growth:
Support growth with existing customers by managing the full sales cycle—responding to enquiries, preparing quotations, and following up to convert leads into confirmed orders. - Order Processing:
Receive, verify, and process customer orders, ensuring accuracy in quantity, price, part numbers, drawing revisions, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Issue order acknowledgments promptly. - System Management:
Create new customer codes and product codes in the system for local pump & valve customers. Upload customer drawings against finished codes. - Delivery & Logistics Coordination:
Ensure timely delivery and completion of required documentation such as RML (Return Material Log). Coordinate with logistics for shipment dispatch details and keep customers informed about order status and any potential delays. - Quality & Complaint Handling:
Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), rejection, and return material processes after obtaining internal approvals. Update NCR records and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams. - Quotation & Communication:
Prepare and send quotations for new enquiries. Respond to customer emails professionally and build strong relationships to enhance customer satisfaction. - Financial Transactions:
Facilitate payment collection and handle financial documents such as debit notes, credit notes (across regions), and tooling invoices. - Development & Feedback Management:
Maintain registers for development samples with customer feedback and update Plant teams regarding any rejections or conditional approvals. Update Product Specification Worksheets (PSW) as required. - Order & Sales Monitoring:
Monitor customer performance metrics including On-Time Delivery (OTD), quality, sales figures, and complaints. Provide open order reports to customers regularly. - Sales Targets & Reporting:
Achieve assigned sales goals and support inventory and system guidelines, ensuring sales orders (SO) match purchase orders (PO) and proper code blocking.
Prepare monthly MIS reports and assist sales colleagues with report preparation for meetings and audits. - New Customer Development:
Work on acquiring new customers and maintain regular communication with the factory to meet urgent and regular customer requirements. - Stock Audit & Analysis:
Participate in stock audit activities and conduct monthly analysis of sales and orders to identify trends and improvement areas.
Key Skills & Qualification:
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment
- Strong knowledge of pump & valve products and industry.
- Proficient in order management systems and ERP software.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle customer complaints and provide resolutions.
- Experience in preparing quotations, financial document handling, and payment follow-up.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Detail-oriented with an ability to analyze sales and inventory data.
- Team player with ability to coordinate across departments.
