At DuFlon, the Machine Shop Manager – Casting plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the machine shop. This role is accountable for meeting production targets, improving productivity, reducing rejections, and driving on-time delivery (OTD). The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a metal casting-focused machining environment.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Oversee production, quality, and development of the machine shop function.

 2. Drive productivity improvements and cost reduction in machining operations.

3. Plan and execute production schedules to ensure timely and accurate delivery.

4. Identify and implement engineering solutions for rejection control and continuous improvement.

5. Build and develop a strong, skilled machine shop team.

6. Implement and manage cost control programs to maintain competitiveness

7. Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

8. Ensure effective machine maintenance and upkeep to minimize downtime.

9. Consistently achieve and maintain targeted On-Time Delivery (OTD) metrics.

The following is required for this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a machine shop environment with a focus on casting.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Deep understanding of casting and machining processes.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and CNC programming.
• Familiarity with quality control tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
